By default, domains will invoice automatically in advance of the renewal date.  

If you wish to not renew your domain navigate to Domains > My Domains > Select Your Domain > Select Auto Renew Under Left Manage Menu > Select Disable Auto Renew.

If you do not renew your domain, it will be available for anyone else to purchase.  If you cancel your domain early, there is no partial year refund for the domain name purchase.
